Motivation to Success (MTS) was created to serve as a resource and on-going support for vulnerable individuals and families in the community. MTS provides services for the homeless, at risk youth, military veterans, ex-offenders, pre-release and re-entry clients that help them improve their lives and become self-sufficient.
MTS collaborates with state, federal, and community based agencies to provide job training placement, housing assistance, and wraparound services to foster self-sufficiency and resolve barriers to securing permanent housing and employment such as outstanding debt, poor credit histories, and lack of identifcation.
OUR LEADERSHIP


William Nance, President & CEO
William Nance is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Motivation to Success, a Mercer County non-profit committed to providing the homeless, military veterans, ex–offenders, pre-release and re-entry individuals, and at-risk youth with critically needed resources that improve their access to permanent housing and employment paying a livable wage and opportunities for advancement. Mr. Nance is a lifelong resident of the City of Trenton committed to collaborating with state, federal, and community based agencies to improve the quality of life for Mercer County’s most vulnerable residents.
As a youth, Mr. Nance participated in the PSE&G mentoring program where he met his mentor Oscar Bradley. Bradley played a significant role in Mr. Nance’s life, providing him with a strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, and leadership skills. His first job was in the auto industry, at General Motors in Ewing Township New Jersey. When General Motors closed its Ewing plant, Mr. Nance went on to become member of the Union Laborer Local 595 Building Trade. During his employment with the Local 595, he attended various trainings and obtained various certifications. The training includes: Ocean Training, Lien Grade, Blueprint Reading, CPR, Scaffold Building, Lead Paint and Asbestos, Heavy Equipment Operating.
Mr. Nance has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He is a Certified Approved Contractor for the City of Trenton who has a long history of providing housing, employment, and training services to the Mercer County community. Prior to founding Motivation to Success, Mr. Nance was the CEO of Will and Sons Home Improvement. Under his leadership, Will and Sons Home Improvement employed local residents facing the detrimental effects of unemployment providing them with the opportunity to acquire knowledge, experience, and skills that would keep them gainfully employed in the future.
Mr. Nance also worked on the South West Village re-development project in the City of Trenton on thr demolition of 20 homes that created affordable housing for Trenton, and he worked with the Mayors M.O.E.T. jobs program. Mr. Nance collaborated with the Juvenile Justice Commission’s Capital Transition program providing jobs and training for at risk youth.
For the last three years, Mr. Nance has been providing Housing Locator services for Catholic Charities’ Rapid Re Housing programs, and has successfully placed over 150 individuals and families in affordable housing within 30 to 45 days. During this time Mr. Nance has gained a solid working knowledge of the homeless and social service systems, case management, and funder requirements.
Mr. Nance feels strongly about contributing to the economy of the community, realizing that his construction company alone could not make the community impact needed led to the creation of Motivation to Success.
